The Great Gorillas have come to Exeter!

On July 25 the Great Gorillas Project came to Exeter.  The project celebrates Paignton Zoo’s 90th anniversary at the same time raising awareness for our increasingly endangered relatives in the animal kingdom.  The gorilla flotilla made its way up the River Exe, arriving at Exeter Quay to start their stay in the city. The One Voice Team were at the Quay to welcome the gorillas to the city on behalf of Princesshay Shopping Centre. Each gorilla has been fantastically painted by local artists, including Princesshay’s very own sponsored gorilla; ‘Cool Ice Cream Bananas’. The sun came out just as the gorillas arrived, with Cool Ice Cream Bananas’ sunglasses coming in useful!  The Great Gorillas are here to stay until Sunday 13th October, before returning to Paignton Zoo for a short stay and will then be auctioned in November this year.
