Princesshay has announced Age UK Exeter as its charity partner for 2015. Committed to supporting local charities and organisations, Princesshay will be working with Age UK Exeter throughout the year on special events and fundraising activities.

Age UK Exeter is a local charity serving local people and is part of the Age UK family. Each year Age UK Exeter connects with over 5,000 older people and directly supports 1,000 older people every week. It delivers over 30 services and activities across the city weekly and is support by over 250 volunteers.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director said: “Age UK Exeter is a brilliant local charity and it is an absolute pleasure to be working with such a great team who are passionate about fundraising and raising the awareness of their charity. We look forward to helping maximize their activity and events held in the centre. As part of the ongoing charity partnership, I’m also proud to announce that the Princesshay team will be volunteering hours to Age UK Exeter.”

For each £1 donated to Age UK Exeter, 91p is spent providing support and opportunities to older people in Exeter. The charity is responsible for its own funding and is governed by a locally elected board of Trustees. The team work hard to respond to each person as an individual by being flexible, valuing diversity and fighting against ageism.

Martyn Rogers, Director, Age UK Exeter said “Everyone at Age UK Exeter is delighted that we have been chosen as Princesshay’s charity of the year. This fantastic opportunity will not only will raise much needed funds towards our work in the city, but will also help us get our message out to older people and their families across Exeter who may need our help and support”.
