PR Account Manager

We are seeking an individual who loves to write and has the skills to match, is an avid consumer of all types of media (from social to newspapers / news sites) and is a confident communicator.  The right person for this role will be organised, confident, creative and a real team player.  The person will have a minimum of four years’ experience in PR and marketing, either at an agency or in-house.

Account Manager

Job Description

Main client day to day liaison.  Drive forward and manage accounts with support of both junior and senior team members.

  • Lead on the activity on each account
  • Act as main client liaison point
  • Manage timelines, project plans, trackers and budgets where relevant
  • Plan and deliver on regular client meetings, catch ups, targets
  • Attend client meetings (e.g. work planning meetings / conference calls / update meetings)
  • Develop, with the team, creative solutions to campaigns and ensure client work is fresh/dynamic
  • Evaluate campaigns and produce post-campaign reports, using tools including Analytics, Insights and return on investment, to assess success
  • Ensure regular reports go to clients on time (e.g. weekly report every Friday)
  • Manage tasks on each account, dividing tasks, overseeing each project to ensure that everything is delivered on time and to deadline
  • Carry out account work including:
    • Leading on ‘sell in’ calls to media – creating sell in tables, dividing calls, making calls, logging responses, sharing updated tables with directors
    • Drafting copy including press releases
    • Issuing press releases
    • Checking media lists are accurate and appropriate
    • Drafting and overseeing social media calendars / activity
    • Creating and managing competitions
  • Support and develop junior team members, providing guidance and feedback on work before it is sent to directors
  • Lead on development of campaigns, feeding in creatively, facilitating brainstorms and drafting campaign plans
  • Weekly meetings with directors to update on work and consult on issues where required
  • Ensure all written work / plans / key decisions are signed off by directors
  • Feed into new business work as required / attend new business pitches as required

The role is 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.  Travel and occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
