InExeter celebrates the city’s food and drink offering with the launch of its latest guide

16 May 2019

This May, InExeter will celebrate Exeter’s food and drink scene with the launch of its latest edition of the InExeter Food and Drink guide. Highlighting the city’s vast number of eateries and bars the guide aims to help visitors and residents alike try something new as well as be up to date with their favourite haunts.

With an enormous foodie offering, it may be difficult deciding where to eat in the city. This year’s food guide hopes to showcase what’s on offer with detailed descriptions of some of your favourite restaurants and bars as well as a full index of everywhere in Exeter’s city centre to eat, drink and enjoy all that Exeter has to offer.

Exeter is brimming with places to dine, especially if it’s brunch that’s needed. One of the city’s newest hubs is nestled within The McCoy’s Arcade. Sacred Grounds, a plant-based café offers fresh, locally produced, seasonal food, created by the team of chefs who produce amazing combinations of plant-based sweet and savoury delights.

Now that the warmer weather has arrived, an alfresco lunch is a must but choosing where to enjoy it might make for a difficult decision.  Queen Street Dining has an array of leading restaurants names within it including The Terrace, Pho, Turtle Bay, Absurd Bird and Comptoir Libanais. All with outdoor seating, this foodie destination is full of tantalising tastes.

With evenings drawing to a close past 9pm now, what better way to unwind than with friends, enjoying a good meal and a tipple in the sunshine? A bustling bar on Sidwell Street, The Monkey Suit is famous for its friendly atmosphere and great live music. Another bar not to be missed is the unassuming Crocketts bar on Upper Paul Street. With an extensive collection of artisan gins, many of which have been distilled right here in the South West, Crocketts provides a chilled and chic destination.
