One Voice Media Wins PR and Marketing Contract for Exeter BID

One Voice Media, Exeter’s longest-established PR agency, has secured the PR and Marketing contract for Exeter Business Improvement District (BID) until 2020 following a competitive pitch process. The BID, established in March 2015 after a successful ‘yes’ vote from city centre businesses, will see £2.4 million being invested into Exeter over the next five years.

One Voice Media has established a strong reputation working with city centre businesses, running the administration, marketing and events for Exeter Chamber of Commerce for the last eight years, as well as working to promote Exeter to visitors through its work with Princesshay and Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink.  The team also carried out the promotion of the BID voting campaign and are already working closely with the Exeter BID team to create a strong identity for the city alongside design partners, Believe In and web developers, Illicit Web Design.

The Exeter BID will work to attract more visitors and improve the appearance of the city centre. Additional marketing of the city centre and new events will also be an early priority. The ideas which have been set out in the BID Business Plan include a wide range of projects to be undertaken in the first year. Businesses have also been invited to come forward with their own ideas to improve business success in specific areas of the city centre to which grant support could be given by the company. The BID will run for up to 5 years and continuation beyond the first five years would depend on a subsequent vote.

Lisa Vanstone, Director at One Voice Media, comments: “We are delighted to have been appointed to manage the PR and Marketing campaign promoting Exeter on behalf of BID. The successful vote is such a great opportunity to make things happen for Exeter and to celebrate the great mix the city has to offer – big name brands and independent businesses as well as its rich heritage and culture and wide variety of arts venues and evening entertainment. We are very excited to get started!”

Craig Bulley, CEO of Exeter BID Company, said: “We were impressed with the experience and passion One Voice Media showed during the pitch process, together with their ability to jump straight in and start delivering high-profile marketing campaigns for the city.”

One Voice Media, established in 1990 and based in Exeter’s Southernhay, is a team of 11 marketing and communications professionals with over 100 years of combined industry experience.
