Over 100 at the latest ExIST Event

Delegates at today’s ExIST event were treated to presentations from five leading business figures operating in the Science and Technology sector.
Robert McIlwraith Chair of ExIST welcomed the audience, updating them on ExIST's activities since the last meeting including introducing the new ExIST brand, website and directory, thanking sponsors South West Communications and Eagle One for their support and outlining the programme of events and workshops for the next quarter.
A presentation followed from Dr Robin Jackson, Director of the Innovation Centre, informing the audience of Crowdcube, an Innovation Centre client, that helps businesses raise equity from their online platform. www.crowdcube.com
Next up, was Bicton's Director for Enterprise, Chris Lorimer, who shared details of the soon to open EaRTH centre at Bicton. The centre will be a ground breaking, carbon neutral venue in the renewable technology education and training for businesses and individuals alike. www.bictonearth.co.uk
Chris was followed by Gerry Shattock, Business Development Manager at Exeter Science Park (pictured) who presented the vision for the Science Park. www.exetersciencepark.co.uk
A key focus of today's event was to help businesses network and interact with a view to encouraging collaborations and partnerships in the future. Dave Strudwick faciliated the session and shared his own experiences of working in partnership with a team of school children who went on to become the world's youngest published scientists.
Feedback from delegates on the networking session was excellent and those taking part generated some fantastic ideas for future events and projects that ExIST can support.
Robert McIlwraith said "The fact that so many people turned up for this second ExIST quarterly event shows how important Science and Technology is to businesses and organisations in and around Exeter. We were also extremely grateful to FlyBe whose training academy provided an ideal location for the delegates."
