I am about to start my 2nd year of Management with Marketing at Exeter University, which consequently means I am about to start searching and applying for my industrial placement year. I applied for a week's work experience at One Voice Media because I thought it would be a great opportunity to have a taste at what it would be like to have my placement at a successful PR/marketing company. Living in Exeter myself, I was also interested in seeing how marketing works in my home town. As well as this, I thought it would be a good chance to put what I’ve learnt at university into action in the real world!

Over the course of the week I was assigned various tasks that differed from day to day. I particularly enjoyed this aspect as it gave me a chance to experience the different areas that One Voice is involved with. My tasks included drafting social media calendars; writing web articles, researching bloggers within the area, copywriting for businesses in Exeter and researching local events. ‘Style in Exeter’ is coming up shortly in Princesshay and I had the opportunity to write some fashion articles about this season's trends and must-haves which I loved doing!

I have truly enjoyed my time here at One Voice. I felt like a genuine valued member of the company, as I was really involved in day-to-day tasks (not just the tea/coffee girl like you might expect!). I would like to thank all of the ladies at the One Voice team for being so welcoming and friendly. They were always happy to help and answered any questions that I had. The experience has been invaluable for me, and I would urge anyone interested in media/marketing/PR/events to apply.

Going forward, One Voice has given me the reassurance that marketing is the career that I wish to pursue. I hope that one day I will find myself in a company like this.

Thank you One Voice!
